Meet the Cookie Lady

Welcome, my name is Elee.

I have a huge sweet tooth, my biggest weakness is a good latte and I’m a sucker for things made local.

When not in my kitchen you can find me wandering around Kansas City at a farmers market, coffee shop, exploring some local hiking trails, or let’s be honest: online shopping.

I am owner and creator of Quarantine Cookie. I was born and raised in Kansas, but moved out to the East coast for college. There, I attended The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. I earned my associates degree in Baking and Pastry arts, and continued my education and received my bachelors degree in Food Business Management. After graduating, I moved to New York City and worked at The NoMad Hotel and Verōnika by STARR restaurant group.

Soon after, a pandemic rolled in and I lost my job in NYC. Then, we decided it was best to leave the city. We packed up our apartment, pissed off our kitty (Jasmine) and took her on a road trip moving half way across the country. Abel thankfully, although reluctantly, agreed to move back to Kansas with me. Not even a month later, we got engaged! Since then, we’ve enjoyed figuring out the scene of Kansas City, spent time with my family (much needed), and drank an astonishing amount of coffee. Lastly, I’ve spent most my time building my own business. We’ve received a lot of amazing support thus far. I’d like to place a special thank you to Emma Milligan who provided us with amazing photos as we started up!

Quarantine Cookie was started amidst the pandemic in my tiny NYC apartment. I began baking cookies in my even tinier oven (might as well have been an easy bake oven). Quarantine Cookie is a small batch bakery focused on providing gourmet baked goods to locals in Kansas City area, along with shipping nationwide to cookie fans in the U.S.
